Nicki Holland
Nicki is a member of the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists and has practiced for over 30 years, alongside complementary medicine. Three years ago Nicki was recorded at a workshop (movingconstellations.com) as saying:- “I had come into my body, with a delight, glory and joy to be on this earth - felt what it’s like to be here in my fullness, having never felt cradled in the universe in that safe way. Thank you Dance.” She explains: “I was re-membering precious moments of dancing with Stefan and Bethan in Paros where I dared to reach out and find safe enough hands to hold.” Twenty years ago she wrote:- ”Life is a carousel and we find ourselves riding the same horse and coming back to the same situation. But then maybe, the ultimate happens. We lose our grip on the merry-go-round of neurotic reality. … we are grabbed by forces which swing us round like a dervish.” This analogy comes from Nicki’s groundbreaking book, “Finding Your Self Through Madness.” Integrating theory with first hand |
descriptions of a pilgrimage through the inner landscape, her insights challenge conventional views. She brings a message of hope to those experiencing mental suffering. (see below*)
Nicki recently wrote, “Our most basic need is to trust, to feel that we belong. I have found that a self in turmoil can experience a rare moment of harmony within the circle dance. I envisage that, with nurturing, such healing energy might then radiate throughout our fragmented world. So I end here with Nietzsche; 'We must have chaos within in order to give birth to a dancing star'.” |
